cartoon friday: no good ideas? Panic! (0177)
This has been one of those weeks when the outside world dumps it's rotting chaff in the middle of your path, foul and heaping and oddly enough, emotionally painful. Fortunately everything passes. The trick is to keep working, keep working, keep working. I have a notebook of Mable cartoon ideas on my work table and another digital notebook on my iPhone, both over-flowing with tons of awesome ideas there for the plucking when needed. Sober reality? Those ideas weren't so great after all. Ouch. And then there was Mable:

serendipitous treasures
I was playing around with a new lens on the Hipstamatic last night and got this shot. Mable and Turtle appeared instantly, phantoms of myself. My late friend and college photography instructor, Michael Siede, used to talk about the magic of serenditious shots - those images you could not have planned, but because you were ready and willing, right place right time, you might capture a moment of unsuspected beauty.
Can you see Mable & Turtle? I honestly did not not realize the turtle was even in the frame until the image processed. Serendipity.
